The Maui Oceanfront Marathon (MOM) is a great way to start your year off healthy! Held every Martin Luther King Jr. weekend, the MOM has 5K, 10K, 15K, half marathon, and full marathons to compete in!

Great Maui Whale Festival

Celebrating everything whales, the Great Maui Whale Festival is an annual event that brings together volunteers to help track the Pacific humpback whales that make the trip to the islands of Hawai’i every year.

Lahaina Whale and Ocean Arts Festival

The Lahaina Whale and Ocean Arts Festival continues to celebrate the annual migration of the Pacific Humpback whale by hosting talks with marine biologists, booths for artists to sell marine-themed art, and local music and dancing.

Banyan Tree Birthday Party

The Banyan Tree Birthday Party celebrates the birthday of Maui’s famous Banyan tree with live music, magic shows, artists, a farmers market, and of course birthday cake. The tree now stands over 60 feet tall and spreads over 225 feet.

Lei Day

Lei Day is a statewide holiday in Hawaii that celebrates the Hawaiian culture/aloha spirit. People celebrate by gifting lei’s to each other and you can find parties and festivals all around the island.

Maui Film Festival

The Maui Film Festival is one of the island’s premier events! World renown actors, directors, and producers have graced the red carpet. Enjoy the intimate atmosphere over the 5 days and 50 movies premiered at the Celestial Cinema.

Kapalua Wine & Food Festival

Lana’i Pineapple Festival

The Lana’i Pineapple Festival takes place 4th of July weekend and is a celebration of the homegrown pineapples found throughout the community. It is a great time and one of our favorite local 4th of July adjacent celebrations!

Emma Farden Sharpe Hula Festival

The Emma Farden Sharpe Hula Festival celebrates the heartbeat of the Hawaiian people. Celebrate one of Hawaii’s oldest traditions under the Lahaina Banyan Court in late August.

The Taste of Lahaina is a culinary celebration that features local restaurants with food from cultures all around the world. The festival includes drinks, music, agricultural tents, and rides for all ages.

Hawai’i Food & Wine Festival

The Hawai’ian Food & Wine Festival has anchored the fall season of Maui for over 10 years. Enjoy the collaborations from over 70 chefs from around the country to celebrate everything that makes Hawaiian American food interesting.

The Hawaii International Film Festival is a non-profit 501c3 that supports small independent filmmakers to produce and screen their films in front of live audiences.

Lighting of the Banyan Tree

The Lahaina Banyan Tree was planted in 1873 by Sheriff Smith to commemorate the arrival of the first missionary to Maui. Since it has become a gathering place for many social events including the holiday lighting of the tree every year in early December.
