White Sands Await
Although there aren’t any specific events happening on Maui for Memorial Day, we don’t think you will feel too bad about spending the bonus day off lazing on white sands as the ocean roars and the sun smiles down on you. Memorial Day will be on May 26th this year, and we can tell you that the beaches will be busy, so if lazing, relaxing, and building sandcastles at the shore’s edge sounds like a good idea, you should probably arrive early, staking your claim where the views are the best. Choosing one of our beachfront retreats is definitely a bright idea, ensuring that you won’t have as far to go to get to your spot!
Shopping the Sales
The best sales drop on Memorial Day Weekend. If you have room in your luggage (our fully equipped laundry rooms ensure that you can pack light and do laundry as necessary), Kihei Kalama Village at 1941 S Kihei Road in Kihei offers an excellent selection of shops filled with treasures that you won’t be able to resist. Also, it is home to various restaurants and pubs. Be sure to stop by the Dog and Duck Irish Pub for a quick pick-me-up during your shopping adventures!
Under the Sea
Diving is a popular Maui activity, but snorkeling is a fantastic substitute for your Memorial Day on Maui adventures if you are only here for the weekend and don’t have time for training or certification. Maui Snorkel Tours, located inside Ed Robinson’s Diving Adventures, 165 Hale Kuai Street in Kihei, has been offering guided snorkeling tours for over three decades, offering up the beauty of the undersea world to travelers from all over the world. Most tours begin at around 7:30 in the morning and end by noon, allowing guests to explore to their heart’s content and return to land for a delicious lunch, followed by a nap.
Barbecue at Home with PMI Maui
If you were to stay home, a holiday barbecue would probably be on your list of things to do, so why should your escape to Maui for Memorial Day be any different? Many of our condo communities offer barbecue areas for the utilization of the guests, and grills or outdoor kitchens can be found in most of our standalone homes. Choose PMI Maui for an unforgettable Maui Memorial Day celebration!
