Choose Your Maui Packing List
1. For Honeymooners/Couples
Visiting Maui with your special someone is a treat. Our island is full of opportunities to unwind and enjoy each other’s company. We suggest packing a camera to document your days together. If you’re planning a sunset cruise or a romantic oceanfront dinner, pack a pair of pants and a long-sleeve sweater for those occasional windy nights. Warm clothing will also come in handy if you choose to visit Haleakala. You can cuddle up as the sun rises over the clouds!
Tip: Check out our blog for more information on organizing the best Maui honeymoon.
2. For Outdoorsy Types
Maui is a paradise for those who love the great outdoors. You can fill your days with beach trips, scenic drives, waterfall hikes, and more! Here are a few things we recommend bringing if you plan to spend a lot of time outside:
- Comfortable backpack
- Sneakers/hiking shoes/socks
- Reusable water bottle
- Sunglasses/hat
- Reef safe sunscreen
Tip: Don’t worry about bringing outdoor gear like snorkeling/scuba equipment, surfboards, or boogie boards to the island. You can rent these items at an affordable rate when you get here.
3. For Families & Groups
An epic family vacation awaits you on the Valley Isle! Ziplining, paddle sports, aquarium trips, and guided tours are just a few fun things to do on Maui with kids. Consider investing in a GoPro HERO to capture your adventures. You may also want to purchase quick-dry water shoes for the ocean and tidepools. Rash guards come in handy when children are learning to surf, and reef-safe sunscreen is always a must.
Tip: Many of our guests choose to cook dinner for their families while staying with us. Because Hawaii has banned the use of plastic bags, you may want to bring your own reusable shopping bags for groceries.
